LYCÉE FRANÇAIS INTERNATIONAL

The rehabilitation of the Lycée Français International Théodore Chassériau in Las Terrenas reimagines the school as a sensitive learning environment, shaped by climate, nature, and everyday discovery. Through shaded outdoor spaces, natural ventilation, timber filters, and close contact with tropical vegetation, the project creates an architecture that encourages curiosity and comfort throughout the school day.

Rooted in its local context, the intervention introduces a material language connected to the Dominican landscape and its natural resources. More than a place of education, the school becomes an open and welcoming environment where children can learn through light, texture, movement, and a direct relationship with their surroundings.
